Helen was previously a programme manager for an HIV/AIDS awareness campaign in Cameroon after studying for a degree in politics and international relations, and a masters degree in rural development.

Matt joined Matter&Co in 2010 to create partnerships between Matter&Co and other organisations all in the business of having a positive impact on the wider world.
He has applied this to a number of projects and campaigns, including Good Deals, socialenterpriselive.com and the SE100 Index. His claim to fame is cooking dinner for Winnie Mandela, despite barely being able to operate a tin opener.

Peace and love matter to me.Sarah oversees the creative and graphic design work that Matter&Co produces, collaborating with like-minded people to build the best visual communications for our clients and us.
She graduated from Bath Spa University with a degree in graphic design and has worked for a number of London-based agencies. Sarah is also currently studying part time for a Masters in Art Therapy at London Metropolitan University.

Colours (the brighter the better), creativity, people and daydreaming.Ilona has a first class degree in economics and accountancy from Timisoara West University in Romania.
She also holds an AAT diploma from Carshalton College Association of Accounting Technicians. She is starting the ACCA course in October to become a fully fledged charted accountant.
Prior to Matter&Co, Ilona worked as a finance officer for a large retailer in Romania.

My baby boy, keeping healthy and working in a good and friendly environment.Anna is an experienced communications professional with a long track record in designing and delivering hard-hitting campaigns for clients spanning the private, public and third sectors.
After studying for a degree in Public Relations in Leeds, Anna worked as a press officer for the London Housing Federation before becoming a senior media relations officer for campaigns at Action On Hearing Loss (formerly RNID).
At Matter&Co, Anna has led the strategic delivery of communications for some game changing clients including NESTA, Look Ahead Housing and Care, the Skoll World Forum and the Cabinet Office. She has been the driving force for a number of client magazines, media campaigns, events, websites and marketing campaigns.

Enthusiasm, impeccable manners, laughter and grammar.Henry co-founded Matter&Co in 2001 after a career as a journalist specialising in social issues, business, social enterprise and urban development. As well as account directing a number of clients, Henry has written and edited a wide range of publications and websites for clients including The Royal Bank of Scotland, CCLA, government departments, the New Economics Foundation, NCVO, the Development Trusts Association and the Community Development Finance Association.
After studying for a BA and then MA in sociology and cultural studies, Henry worked for a marine conservation charity producing reports for governmental delegations to the International Whaling Commission. He then studied for a post-graduate diploma in journalism at the London College of Printing.

Embracing new models of business and politics that are better than their predecessors.William (Bill) carries out a lot of Matter&Co’s ‘word work’ as a writer, editor and production editor across many accounts. He is also an experienced photographer (he took many of the images on this website).
Bill was formerly a production editor for the Society of Biology and works as a freelance writer specialising in human rights issues. He is the author of Against the Wall: the art of resistance in Palestine (available on Amazon).

Human rights, human stories, big hearts and photography, and using all of these to bring about positive change.Julie is a highly experienced editor and writer. She’s passionate about using her communication skills to help others to get their message across powerfully, accurately and vibrantly.
Julie has edited a variety of magazines including Third Sector and Foster Care. She’s also overseen the creation of many websites, reports, leaflets and research documents. She’s worked with government departments, charities, social enterprises and City firms, and has written for the Guardian, the Observer and more.
Julie is one of Matter&Co’s core associates. She lives in a small off-grid house on a hill in Spain and blogs about Catalan culture, olive farming and reducing her eco-footprint at A Taste of Honey Catalunya. She tweets @JuliePybus.

Saving water, turning lights off, baking better bread, the Med and the mountains, great photos, good books.Jess joined Matter&Co in 2010 from Citigate Dewe Rogerson, where she managed PR campaigns for a number of investment clients. This specialist knowledge has enabled her to develop powerful strategies for the emerging social investment industry.
Clients include The Royal Bank of Scotland, CCLA, Key Fund and the SE100 Index. As well as designing communication strategies and securing extensive media coverage, Jess also edits both online and digital publications for many clients.
Jess grew up in New Zealand and has a Bachelor of communication studies from Auckland University of Technology. She also holds the FSA approved Investment Management Certificate.

Working with people that inspire me and have a positive ‘can-do’ approach, and having a healthy balance in life.One of Matter&Co’s founding directors, Tim has a reputation for intelligent, innovative work that helps clients build value and deliver their business and social objectives. Much of his work is at a strategic level with boards and senior managers.
A highly experienced editor and writer, Tim’s 20-year career spanned local papers, senior trade press roles and then freelancing for national media. Tim is also founding editor of socialenterpriselive.com and is often invited to speak at or chair events. He has served on several national advisory panels (Cabinet Office Social Enterprise Ambassadors; UnLtd level 2 awards).
Tim has a BA from Oxford University, studied business at Warwick and Cranfield, and is an NCTJ-qualified journalist. He is a trustee of Ealing Community Transport.

Lisa has worked with Matter&Co for the best part of a decade developing strategies for clients including The Royal Bank of Scotland, Serco Welfare to Work, ECT, Supporters Direct, the Social Enterprise Ambassadors programme and the Young Foundation.
Before joining Matter&Co, Lisa has held senior management positions at the London Housing Federation, Metropolitan Housing Partnership and Neil Stewart Associates.
