Scooping for change with Ben & Jerry’s

After months of top-secret camera activity, Matter&Co finally gets to shout about the exciting social innovation work it has been developing with Ben & Jerry’s and Ashoka.

The Ben & Jerry’s and Ashoka social entrepreneur film series, produced by Matter&Co, introduces a quest for five brilliant people with great business ideas that share the ice cream company’s passion for creating positive social change through entrepreneurship.

Ben & Jerry’s ‘Join Our Core’ competition, launched today, will unearth 15 amazing social entrepreneurs from five countries around Europe. Over the summer they will be sent to Uganda, where Ben & Jerry’s sources its fair trade vanilla, and there the 15 will be whittled down to the five best social business ideas.

These five will not only win a cash prize and support from the Ashoka network but – in a groundbreaking move – they will also have their name marketed alongside a new Ben & Jerry’s product in their country.

The films feature Ashoka social entrepreneurs from across Europe who are already achieving remarkable success around the world. They aim to inspire and encourage budding social entrepreneurs out there to get involved in this incredible opportunity.
